Accuracy of power measurements using PMBus

Hello ... I would like to measure the power consumption of a core implemented in Virtex -6 on ML605 board ... I tried the System Monitor feature in Chipscope and results are not very accurate. Another approach seems to be using USB Interface Adapter EVM to connect the SMBus (I2C) interface of the UCD9240 controller (on ML605) and the USB port on the computer. Before getting the interface and try this 'm wondering if anyone knows how accurate the POUT is shown by Fusion Digital Power OR anyone suggests better POUT measurement that can be even done on FPGA with better accuracy?
