TMS320C6678 powered with 15A regulator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM21215, TMS320C6678, LM10011

Hi All,

1. I am planning to use 15A regulator(LM21215) for CVDD supply. Will it be sufficient to run DSP at 1250MHz and with all interfaces enabled? Can this design work upto 100 C?

2. Even the TI power architect shows 12.9A(load current) when I select TMS320C6678 as my load. It does not specify the operating frequency and the max temp it can operate. Please clarify...

Thanks,

Manjunath

  • Hi Manjunath,

We don't publish a maximum power number since the power required by the part is highly dependent on the applications that it is running. You will have to download and populate the C6678 Power Consumption Model spreadsheet to determine the maximum power needed by the C6678 in you design.

Remember that the CVDD power supply must be a SmartReflex compliant design. The LM21215 is not one of the designs that are currently supported but it may work in conjunction with the LM10011 to add the SmartReflex capability.  That would be a question for one of the forums supporting the power supply components.

    Regards, Bill
