Fusion Digital Power Designer Programming Issues

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9246, PTD08A020W, UCD74106

I’m having difficulty setting up an 8-rail fusion digital power system using 2 x UCD9246. I can’t get UCD9246 #1; Rail #2 or UCD9246C #2; Rail #2 to power up reliably. I believe the hardware is ok as all the other rails work.

Also I get the following warning when swapping between rails in Design mode when swapping between Rails #2, #3 & #4 on either UCD9246C

UCD9246 #1

Rail #1: PTD08A020W 1V0 @ 20A

Rail #2: UCD74106 3V3 @ 6A

Rail #3: UCD74106 1V5 @ 6A

Rail #4: UCD74106 2V5 @ 6A

UCD9246C #2

Rail #1 = PTD08A020W 1V0 @ 20A

Rail #2: UCD74106 2V5 @ 6A

Rail #3: UCD74106 1V2 @ 6A

Rail #4: UCD74106 1V8 @ 6A

Attached is the PSU circuit pages & the Fusion program files.

  • I checked the website http://www.ti.com/tool/FUSION_DIGITAL_POWER_DESIGNER & found a new version have just been released. This fixed the warnings bug when swapping rails in Design Mode & the crash when creating a new design (which I didn't mention in the above).

However, when I create my two UCD9246 device files ".xml" (as above) this is fine. I then create a system file ".tifsp" & import the two device files again this is also fine. But when I reopen the system file I get two warnings (warn1,jpg & warn1.jpg) The timings look ok (timings1.jpg). But if & go to Design mode & click "Write to Hardware" without making any changes & get an error (error1.jpg) followed by a write log (write1.jpg). This results in changes to my timings (timing2.jpg)

I am running the latest Fusion Digital Power Designer Version  1.9.78 [October 8, 2014] & all the design files were created from scratch using this version.
