Burst Mode of UCD3138

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138, UCD3138PSFBEVM-027

Hi TI,

I am going to use the burst function of ucd3138 in my design, but I am not clear about its operation.

Do you have examples or related documents?

Thanks.

michael.

  • Nobody answers?

On page79 about burst mode, "In its simplest form, it disables DPWM output pulses when the filter output goes below a threshold - LoopMuxRegs.LLDISTHRESH. It reenables them when the filter goes above another threshold – LoopMuxRegs.LLENTHRESH.bit.TURN_ON_THRESH."

I am confused why the filter output will go high after the DWPM is disabled, and why the filter will to low after the DPWM is enabled?
  • Michael,

Have you seen the UCD3138PSFBEVM-027? It uses burst mode at light loads.
