UCD7242 AC switch voltage output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD7242, UCD9244

Hello all,

I'm currently working on a design that uses the UCD7242 in conjunction with a UCD9244. I have a question about the AC switch voltage output absolute maximum rating of 34 V given in the UCD7242 data sheet. There is a footnote stating that AC levels are limited to within 5 ns. Does this mean that this voltage can be exceeded as long as it's only for 5 ns or less?

The peak voltage I measured (i.e. overshoot) was around 14 V and well below the AC spec given. I've included a screenshot as an example.

Now suppose the markers intersected the waveform at a level of 34 V. Since the duration between the markers is only 1.4 ns, then am I correct in thinking that such a voltage level violation is acceptable?
