UCD9246: PMBUS is non-responsive after multi attempts to program the device.

Part Number: UCD9246

This device is programmed at ICT (InCircuit Test) prior to bringing up all power rails. It appears that the device programs on the very first attempt.  All subsequent programming attempts fail. After a few attempts the device is no longer responds to PMBUS commands. Is there a way to get this device to return to a functional state short of replacing the device?

  • Finally determined the problem.  The device is in ROM mode and as such only responds to address0x0B. A post for a different and yet similar problem supplied me with a clue as to the problem. Write "0xF0 to address 11d" to get the chip to start up.
