UCD7100: UCD7100 negative voltage spikes at the CS will break the CS pin

Part Number: UCD7100

Hi team,

My customer is using the UCD7100 now. They use the chip with the H-bridge. But there will be a negative voltage at the CS pin, For worst condition, the negative voltage will reach -1v, will it break the CS pin? Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,

How long will the CS pin experience -1V?

The absolute minimum voltage on CS is -0.3V but the UCD7100 may survive a short pulse of -1V. If it does survive the reliability and  lifetime of the part is not guaranteed because it is outside the abs max range.
