PTD08D210W: FUSION_DIGITAL_POWER_DESIGNER + UCD9248PFC + PTD08D210W

Part Number: PTD08D210W
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9248, , TPS51116

Hi,

my circuit is composed of a power controller (UCD9248) and a PowerTrain module (PTD08D210W).
The output voltage of the PowerTrain modules is used as the termination voltage of our electronic component.

I have some questions

Q1:  can the PowerTrain module PTD08D210W as source/sink be configured?
Q2: if the sink mode is possible.
  -  what values are valid in the Isense output (PTD08D210W) when the output current is negative (Sink mode)?
  -  which parameters must be configured in UCD9248PFC with  FUSION_DIGITAL_POWER_DESIGNER

Regards,

Oscar.

  • Oscar:

Sorry about the delayed response . It was incorrectly tagged.

D08D210W  and  its internal  UCD7242MOS Buck FET and driver is a source only digital power train power supply. It is not configurable to DDR / sink-source current.

TPS51116 is a complete DDR VT memory solution .

There is a complete training solution for FPGA-ASIC and DDR rails.

  • Hi Tom,

Thank you very much for your answer.

    One more question..

according to the datasheet of PTD08D210W at page 5

„Synchronous Rectifier Enable A. This pin is a high impedance digital input. A 3.3 V or 5 V logic level signals is used

to enable the synchronous rectifier switch. When this signal is high, the module will source and sink output current.

When this signal is low, the module will only source current.“

can this modul work as sink output current.

this means that he can work also as sink?

  • Oscar:

Synchronous Rectifier Enable A is used for pre-bias voltage on Vout  only during initial  start-up operation. This pin is a high impedance digital input. A 3.3 V or 5 V logic level signals is used o enable the synchronous rectifier switch. When this signal is high, the module will source and sink output current.
