Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9248

hi,

I am using TI 's software Fusion Digital Power Designer to configure UCD9248. My hardware schematic is  same with the Xinlinx's KC705 board. When I connect the PC and my board with TI's USB-to-GPIO, it can scan the three UCD9248,and then pop-up a window as follows,I do not know why, please give me some proposal.THank you very much.

  • UCD9248 is a digital device. It has no configuration out of factory. You should be able to download configuration files (.XML) from Xilinx website and import them into UCD9248 devices.

    Regards,

    Zhiyuan

  • The problem does not exists on the xilinx board but on the custom board. And how to import them into UCD9428 devices. Now I can not configure the ucd9248 device.

  • Dear hu,

Firstly thank you very much for your help, the connection problem has been solved with your proposal, but when I download the  configuration files (.XML) to my board, a window was poped-upas follows that shows the VOUT read was not within 3% of VOUT_COMMAND. I ignored the failed message, and  then I start the Fusion Digital Power Designer ,the label write to hardware was not active,so I can not write the modifyed configuration information to the hardware. Please give me some proposal.I really appreciate your geneous help.

  • Please make sure the on-board PMBus master is disconnected or disabled. The USB-to-GPIO adapter should be the only PMBus master when it is communicating with the devices.

To download configuration to the devices, launch Fusion Digital Power Designer GUI, select to configure a device, go to File -> Import Project file, and then select the corresponding xml file provided by Xillinx. Follow the GUI wizard to complete the download process.

To avoid unexpected behavior, please keep the rails off while downloading the configuration (such as set CONTROL pin to off position, or remove Vin).
  • Hi,I have import the XML file to the device follow your words. And now a new problem has appeared. The button in the configuration window --write to hardware and discard changes are gray, and unable to click them. Is there any error in my operation?
  • If you change some field in the configuration, the Write to Hardware button will become clickable.
