We just completed a design with the UCD9240 (80-pin version) and we are in the testing stages. The design is as close as being 'by the book' as it gets with the caveats that the documentation is not consistent with respect to the connection of some pins (e.g., leave floating, or connect a resistor...

I followed these guidelines to a T (see separate thread on this same forum). However, I had to reduce the resistor to much lower values than what these equations would predict to obtain 3.3V. Also, all the voltages in my system are 10% off of what I programmed. I tested this in three different...

In my case the device running or stopped is of no consequence (I have only tested with a program in it). The voltage is consistently too low. The input voltage is 5V and, given the power consumption, the required resistor should be in the 300Ω to 900Ω range. However I had to reduce this...

After talking to TI this seems to be a known (albeit undocumented) problem with the UCD9240. So for the sake of other designers out there: The problem originates from insufficient bypassing of the analog reference section. If the bypass capacitors are not close enough to the analog supply/gnd pins...

We added 0.1µF X7R capacitors across the analog supply pins on the original boards and this brought the reference output to better than ~2.7% from spec (instead of the ~10% we had before). After bringing the reference to the right level, the UCD9240 PWM frequency got to 980KHz (from the programmed...

I am doing the dynamic test on the UCD9240 and UCD7230 combo design. The overshoot is higher than the required spec. I am trying to lower the overshoot and undershoot by adjusting the compensation parameters. I have reached to a point that I don't know what I should adjust that will make a better...

(Please visit the site to view this file) Can you see if I am doing the correct thing on my parameter setup? Thanks.
