my thermorestior has gone bad .  it is under the battery tray on 02  thru. 06 dodge ram. it has 6 volts comming in to it and i need 3 volts comming out. it changes by battery temp. mine is bad and lets too much  voltage thru. and it turns my check engin light on , and i can't get it inspected till i get the light off.  the part to replace cost 50.00. and has nothing to do with anything except the temp. of the battery. they quite putting them on after 06. i need a used one or something to replace it with.

a chock, resitor or ic.  i do not know     what i need to reduce 6 volts dc. to 3 volts dc..    this thermorestor has  2 wires    6 volts going in and variable comming out.  too high i get a code 1492           too low and i get a code  1493         so i think i need 3  volts from 6  volts   reducer  some how     please  help me out

thanks in advance      DAN

    Dan,

I'm not familiar with the codes you mentioned above.  I also can't tell if you need a temperature sensor or a step-down regulator (switching or linear) of some type, but we have both available at TI.  Check out our offerings at www.ti.com
