Hi,

I have available AC 300 mV p-p voltage. I need to power embeded system with this voltage (3.3 V DC, about 5 mA current compustion). Is there any simple solution  - as AC / DC switching converter etc... ? I only came across DC/ DC converter ( tps61200 ) that accepts very low input voltage ( > 0.3 Vdc). Or there would be an solution to use some ultra low drop rectifier - but I have never seen something like that.

    It's hard to do anything with that small of a voltage.  But that's why we designed the TPS61200--to do something with these very small Vins.

    You will need to boost your input somehow to get up to at least 0.5V DC.  This is the voltage required to start the TPS61200.  After it starts, you can go down to 0.3V and it will keep running.

    I suggest a transformer to boost your AC input.  All converters first rectify the AC voltage to a DC bus and this is what you will need to do also.

    All converters first rectify the AC voltage to a DC bus and this is what you will need to do also.

    So if I undestand.... TPS61200 accepts AC Vin ?

    No.  What I meant by 'converters' was the whole power supply--the system.  All low power ICs that I know of only take a DC input.  So, the power supply should first rectify the AC input to provide a DC bus to the IC.
