MPPT with SM72442 and SM72295

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SM72295, SM72442, LM5175

 Hi,

I want to have a mppt from my solar panels with the sm72442 and sm72295, i have read the datasheet and it is like it works with a 4-gate buck-boost converter.

  My question is:

Is it possible to use the chip with another converter like a simple buck-boost or a sepic converter?

  • I know it's an old post, but I have the same question.

I've been trying to use the LM5175 with higher output and input voltage (up to 80V) by using an external driver. Is it possible to use the SM72295 as a driver for that solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Luis

  • Elcira and Luis,
SM72295 can be used in applications such as full bridge and half bridge converters synchronous buck and boost converters. This device is unique due to higher voltage level (100V) support. We have recently released a TIDesign based on SM72295 and C2000 processor which supports 48-12V Bi-directional converter. SM72295 is implemented in synchronous buck and boost configuration based on the current direction. Here is the link to the TIDesign Page, you can download schematic and test report.
