I just wonder can it be used to achieve max power for a small wind turbine? 

If not could you advice something?

    Hi,
    The SM72442 was designed for solar panels and their IV curves.

    Its method of MPP tracking assumes a typical solar panel IV curve. If the IV curve of your wind turbine was similar to that of typical solar panels, then yes, you may be able to use this, but I have not tested this specifically.
