LM4040: whether pin1 and pin 2 have any connection to pin 3

Hi Team,


Please help to confirm LM4040-N, whether pin1 and pin2  have any connection to pin3 inside the chip?

Because we found 1 pcs pin3 short to pin2.  Is it normal? Any EOS will cause this symptom?

    Hi Daniel,

    Pin 2 and 3 are both part of the substrate, so while there might be some small internal resistance between them they can appear as shorted.

    As per the datasheet, pin 3 should be left floating or connected to pin 2, therefore this is normal behavior.
