REF102: Datasheet question: Thermal hysteresis missing

Part Number: REF102
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC7715,

Hi,

I'm currently working on my bachelor's thesis in electrical engineering. A DAC7715 is connected to a REF102 for providing the reference voltage. In "Voltage Reference Selection Basics" (SNVA602) I found some information about calculating the output error in LSB. In the datahseet all needed inforamtion are provided except thermal hysteresis characteristics. Where can I obtain the number or is there anything to be assumed?

Thanks,

Sven Seelbach

  • Hi Sven,

If it is not in the datasheet then we do not have a value for it. For thermal hysteresis if you follow SNVA602, the document you mentioned, you can try to measure it. Keep in mind that the first initial cycle of thermal hysteresis will be higher due to the stress that is added to the device but every cycle after will be lower. Another thing to keep in mind is that the thermal hysteresis typically has a much smaller effect than the temperature coefficient so it is important to make sure when doing cycles that the starting and ending point are identical.

    Thank you,
