LM4041-N: Max Voltage

In the recommended operating conditions, it shows output voltage should be 1.24 to 10V.

Does this mean when the part is active? For example, if I have this circuit:

If the input voltage ramps up to 22V, the circuit kicks in at ~18V. After the LM4041 is conducting the voltage will be be ~2V which is OK for the part. Before the part turns on it would exceed the max recommended output voltage. Is this an issue??

Hi Sparkaholic,

Yes that would be an issue, we do not recommend anything above abs max or the recommended operating conditions. In a typical application the current limiting resistor is on the cathode so on startup the device never experiences the higher voltage.
