TPS3422: using TPS3422 with tactile switch to power ON the system

Part Number: TPS3422
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3421, TPS3420

Hi,

I am planning to use tactile switch to turn ON and turn OFF a circuit. I am not using any micro-controller. It is possible to use TPS3422 to power ON and OFF the system.

Regards,

Tapas

  • Tapas,

Yes, any of our push-button controllers will be excellent for this application. This includes our single button controller TPS3422 and our dual button controllers TPS3420 and TPS3421. Also, if you need extra flexibility (specific reset delay, voltage monitoring, anything extra that the push-button controllers don't have), you can use any supervisor with "Manual Reset" feature and implement an external button using the "/MR" pin. With devices that have manual reset (/MR), you simply have to pull the /MR pin low to reset the output.

I hope this answers your question!
