This may be a basic question,
what could be the maximum distance of a power rail from Power Management IC to a Device(like Microcontroller).
Is there any application notes on general Power supply circuit design and layout guidlines.
generally the power management IC close to microcontroller. because to avoid resistance and board capacitance effect. if u arrange max distance between those two power wastage should be increased.
For general layout guidelines for power supplies, Robert Kollman has written a paper that is in the the 2004/2005 Power Supply Design Seminar 1600 Constructing Your Power Supply - Layout Considerations. From the TI home page, do a key word search on SEM1600 to locate this topic.
