BQ25700A: Simple charging without Using Host Communication
Part Number: BQ25703A
Hello E2E Community,
For POC, we are testing with BQ25703A EVM & EV2300 kit. I am using the Battery Management Studio (bqStudio) Software Suite v188.8.131.52 - Build 1.
I am not able to see the recommended target mentioned in BQ25703A EVM i.e., “Charger_1_00-bq25703AI2C.bqz” in the list of supported targets by tool.
So does EV2300 support the BQ25703A EVM for enabling the battery charging configuration ? If yes, then please provide the steps to do so.
Can i select some other charger target which may be compatible in configuring battery enable ?
If not then does it need EV2400 kit for this ?
Also am i using the correct version of the tool i.e., bqStudio Software Suite v184.108.40.206 - Build 1 ?

Devendra Singh Solanki,
Please copy the attached bqz file to bqstudio's config folder.
If the EV2300 can support bqstudio, you can try the attached Charger_1_00-bq25703A.bqz file.

As per your instruction i copied the 2438.Charger_1_00-bq25703A.bqz file to bqstudio's config folder.
But it still did not show in the list of supported targets. So i renamed the config file to "Charger_1_00-bq25703AI2C.bqz".
Now it shows the BQ25703A as one of the supported targets. So now i move to next steps of changing “update mode” from “immediate” to “manual”. Upto this step it is done successfully.
Now when i click on “Read Register” it shows me a "Device ACK Error". Attaching the screenshot of the same.
Please help to resolve this issue.

It is possible that computer OS needs EV2400 to configure the BQ25703A EVM. EV2300 may not be used for this computer. EV2300 may need to install the unofficial drivers for windows 64 bit. There is a forum post about this.
