Part Number: LMG5200
Hello team,
my customer has rise the following questions below please advise back:
1.What input current of the LMG5200MOFT should receive?
a.Pin 4-Hi
b.Pin 5-LO
c.can I directly connect the Pins of the LMG5200MOFT to the TMS320F2837xD?
d.What is the reason that you connect the SN74AVC8T245RHLR between DRIVER (LMG5200MOFT) and MCU (TMS320F2837xD)?
thanks in advance and regards,
Shai
Hi Shai,
To answer you cursomer's questions:
a&b) the LMG5200 HI and LI pins are logic high impedance pins, consider these ~2pF and min 100 kohm to ground, so the current really depends on the frequency but it will be very low.
c) if the I/O voltage is kept above 3.14V as per spec your lowest output voltage out of the I/O pin is above 2.5V, this will be sufficient to trigger the logic threshold for the LMG5200 (2.22V max). Given this, it is possible to drive the LMG5200 directly.
d) as I don't have much information about this project I assume SN74AVC8T245RHLR is there as a buffer to break a long run between the micro and the power stage, also it might be there to increase the dynamic range and reduce pulse width distortion. This depends on what the Vdd power rails look like under all conditions.
I hope this answers your question, but please feel free to reach out if you have more questions!
Best regards,
Alberto

the TIDA-00913 is available as an orderable EVM under the part number:
BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV
Please let me know if you have any issues ordering this.
Thank you and best regards,
