LMG3410: LMG3410 GaN Stage in a buck-boost converter

Hello,

I want to use the LMG3410 in a buck-boost converter. Instead of the Diode I want to use a second power stage with the Source connected to the load. I know that normally GaN-devices are bidirectional components but I was wondering if the LMG3410 can be used to lead 3A from Source to Drain without any problems.

Hello Colin,

Yes, GaN conducts in 3rd quadrant from Source to Drain without any problem. The VSD vs ISD characteristic is given in Figure 3 of LMG3410's datasheet.
