High Voltage Variable Power Supply

Hello,

I want to build a High Voltage Power Supply with a voltage level of -2.2kVdc which has to be variable from -400VDC to -2200VDC. The input for the same is universal   85 -265Vac. However I was not able to find a suitable application for reference.

I tried calculating for the same with Flyback topology as the base and it turns out that the Turns ratio is quite high to make it a compact arrangement which is my requirement. Also the PIV's for the rectifier which is coming is about more than 8KV which is a bit unpractical to be available.

Could any one please help / suggest on the same.

Hi Samir -- we don't have anyone on our applications teams who can help with this.  Hopefully someone in the Community with experience will chime in.

Regards and thanks for using the fourms!

    hi, samir

Best option would be to use a voltage multiplier for generating high voltage. have a fixed freq 50 percent duty

cycle oscilltor as input to voltage multiplier and vary the output voltage by varying the input voltage of the oscillator.

The topolgy you choose for this application will depend on your output power level
