TPS2511 USB Power 5V @ 2.3A vs. 5V @ 500mA USB Standard

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2511

I was wondering if anyone could share some light on the difference between the 2.3A of power from USB power host like the TPS2511 supports vs. the 500mA limit established by the USB standard.

Thanks,

NGM

I'd like to hear what kind USB cables people are using for high current charging.  The few I happen to have have almost 0.5 ohm round-trip resistance.  So I loose at least 0.5V at 1A.

  • Hi Sir,

I would like to suggest you repost your question in the power interface forum.
