More Information about UCC27532

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27532

I am working on a design that will use the UCC27532. The datasheet does not answer the following questions:

1. VIN_H, VIN_L and VIN_HYS are only spec'd at VCC>= 18V. I will be running at 12V. What are the min and max values at this voltage? Your specs @ 18V

2. VIN_HYS is not spec'd for min and max at all, only a typical value at 2.1V. Does VIN_HYS change with VCC level like the thresholds do? What are the max and min limits for VIN_HYS?

3. from the first page of the datasheet:

The UCC27532DBV has CMOS input threshold centered 55% rise and 45% fall in regards of VDD at VDD below or equal 18 V. When VDD is above 18 V, the input threshold remains fixed at its maximum level.

But looking at the values spec'd for 18V, the maximum values for VIN_H and VIN_L are 55% and 45%. The min values go to 49% and 37% of VCC. Can I expect a similar spread at 12V? And, once again, the way these values are spec'd at 18V, this ties in heavily with the values for VIN_HYS at 12V.

Is there someone here that knows the chip well enough to answer these questions?

  • The values in the electrical table are generated from measured ATE data.

The thresholds will vary in proportion to Vdd so all the thresholds and hysteresis windows should be the same proportion of Vdd at 12V as they are at 18V. As mentioned in the datasheet, about 18V the threshold is fixed.

I suggest you calculate the thresholds in the electrical table as a % of 18V and multiply by 12V.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks,Billy
