using UCC28070 as boost controller for Solar / Battery array

Can i use the UCC28070 for boosting DC power from an array of Lifepo4 @ 96V to a 400V bus voltage, or are there more efficient solutions to do this ? (eg UCC3895 )

Target power is 3KW

Please some hints

Hi,

The UCC28070 can be used to generate a well controlledd 400V DC BUS at these power levels. Does the 96V in your post refere to the minmum input ac line voltage to the PFC stage or is it the minimum output voltage the ssytem requires?

The UCC3895 can be used to convert the 400V DC BUS from the PFC stage to a regulated lower ouput voltage.

I think for efficiency i better build a full bridge converter to create the 400VDC with an UCC3895 or UCC28950 from the 96V input instead of using the UCC28070 as DC boost convertor 96-> 400V

Ok, I misunderstood the application.

I think you can still use the boost converter from 96dc to 400Vdc but I think you are correct the phase shift full bridge will give you a higher efficiency.
