Hi

This device has pulse skip mode at light load condition.

Can we disable this mode?

Or how much is that decreased until? 

Our customer does not want that the frequency is decreasing at light load.

    Hi Koji, to keep the unit from entering skip cycle mode, the comp pin must be kept above 1.625V. The attached circuit shows a way of keeping the unit out of skip cycle mode for the majority of the load range, although at very light load, it may still enter skip cycle mode. Note that this will give very poor light load efficiency.

    Depending on the customer requirements it may be easier to change the switching frequency of the LM5021 to avoid a particular switching freq

    This is useful information for us. However I have some question for this.

    ; Can we open the COMP pin? The schematic looks it is nothing to connect at COMP pin.
    ; I do not understand how this external circuit works.
    It looks the circuit controls the CS pin voltage at light load.
    ; Please provide us that application note.
