Solar Power bank

I want to design a solar power bank for my final year project any one help me to suggest safety feature required and efficient design for circui

  • Hi vaibhav,

Try this reference design. www.ti.com/.../TIDM-SOLARUINV. It has all the safety circuits and is very efficient. The BOM and board files are free. You can mod them however you like.

  • Thank you for your reply but that product is support for solar panel which have capacity of 28V and above and here in my project we need only 5 V solar panel so it will be difficult to use this product.

  • Would it not be a simple task to stack the outputs of 6 solar panels to get 30V? Or could you not use a 5V to 28 V DC DC converter? This is often done in the industry. In fact this is how I designed the Solar Panel Grid Tie PS for Petra Solar. You can use a synchronous buck/boost converter with greater than 95% efficiency to convert the 5V output to 28V. Or you can stack the solar panel outputs.

  • No i Only want maximum 5V output from My solar panel to charge Li-Ion Battery. and that stored power will charge my smartphone or ipad using usb cable that is my basic concept.

Input from solar panel Max 5V-Store in Battery- output to smartphone or tablet

So main three circuit will be use

    1) CHARGING CIRCUIT BUCK CONVERTER

    2) BATTERY PROTECTION CIRCUIT

    3) BOOST CONVERTER
