Flyback Converter startup setting

I am currently an undergrad engineering student at the University of Toronto. For my project, I need to use a flyback converter whose duty cycle is controlled by a microcontroller or a microchip. At the start of the design, the microcontroller might not be powered yet. Therefore, I was wondering if there was a way in which the duty cycle of the flyback converter could be pre-set or if it has a default duty cycle? The microcontroller will be powered by the flyback and it will take a voltage-temperature sensor's output as an input, quantize it and transmit it on a  transmitter.

Thank you for your help.

  • Hi Nowfal,

    Thanks for your questions!
    Let me comform your question:
As I undetstand, Your confusion is microcontroller power supply problem during the start time. You want to use microcontroller to control your flyback, but still need it for power supply?
if so, I recommend you to use flyback converter IC to control your circuit obtaining expetation output voltage, and then power up your microcontroller for signal processing.
