100W adaptor for type C audio speaker box

Hi Team,

Customer wants to make a 100W (20V 5A) adaptor for an audio speaker box with type C PD interface, I just found a 20V 3A reference design, do you have comments for this 20V 5A design?

Thanks a lot for support,

Kevin Dang

  • For 100W, I assume that you're customer is going to require PFC? Is the 60W design that you have found a flyback based approach? If the application requires PFC it could be quite a different approach to the reference design.

For external adapters the efficiency requirements would want to be born in mind when selecting the topology as well.

  • Yes, exactly, they need PFC, and it's better PFC + PWM controller one chip, but cost still is the first priority, could you please help? thank you very much!
