UCC27714: HS voltage specification for a negative pulse?

Part Number: UCC27714

Recommend HS voltage range is specified from -8V (MIN) to 600V (MAX) at HB-HS=12V in datasheet page 5.

Customer inquired that there are recommend HS voltage specifications for a negative pulse with  such as 1us, 500ns, 100ns, 50ns etc. width?

  • Hi Yoshwa,

Figure 52 and figure 53 of the UCC27714 datasheet demonstrate the negative voltage test method and typical failure mode as shown below:

Figure 53 should be able to answer your customer's question keeping in mind the negative voltage test method shown in figure 52.

    Regards,
    Mateo

  • Thank you for prompt response, I got the Figure 53.

    I have some more questions.

    (1) What does plus/minus voltage of the vertical scale mean?

For example, does ±20 corespond to -20V negative pulse?

    (2) Figure 53 specification is for HB-HS=15V.

What does specification become for HB-HS=10V (MIN) to 18V (MAX)?

    (3) Recommended HS specification is -8V(MIN) to 600V(MAX) at HB-HS=12V..

What are recommended HS specification for HB-HS=10V(MIN) to 18V(MAX)?

    (4) Negative voltage feature makes a plateau for wider pulse width than 500ns in Figure 52.

    What does this plateau mean?

How does this plateau value differ from DC HS minimum specification of -8V on page 5?
