UCC28070: UCC28070 is possible for 3-phase 208V input?

Part Number: UCC28070
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC2817A, UC2854A

Hi~

My customer wants to develop 10kW power using UCC28070.

UCC28070 is possible for Input power 3-phase 208V?

If yes, Could you provide reference circuit diagram?

thank you

  • Hello Mason,

Normally for a 3 phase 208V line to line supply, the AC input is first rectified with a 6 diode bridge rectifier.

This provides a mostly DC high voltage with some ripple at 6 times the AC line frequency.

The UCC28070 quantized multiplier requires that the voltage at VINAC pin falls below 0.7V for at least 50uS

This will not happen in the situation described above since and the UCC28070 is not suitable for this application.

However the UCC2817A and the UC2854A are suitable parts to consider and have been used for many years in a many such applications.

    Regards,

    John
