UCC28910: Could you tell me about UCC28910's using method?

Part Number: UCC28910
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28881, UCC28740

Hi, members.

I have doubts about this device.

Although it is not actually the going project at this point,

if you can know whether it can be used below, the width of promotion will spread for future.

So, please tell me.

<Doubt>
This IC features a primary side regulation that does not require a photocoupler.

But can you use it in a circuit configuration that regulates by returning feedback from the secondary side using a photocoupler?

Best regards,

Masumi Sekiguchi

  • Unfortunately no, the UCC28910 is limited to primary side regulation due to the multifunction use of the VS pin.

    We do, however, have alternatives that can meet your secondary side regulation requirement with a photocoupler. The UCC28881 can be configured as an isolated flyback with an SSR photocoupler, but the output power on the UCC28881 is limited to 4.5W with universal AC input compared to the 7.5W output limit of the UCC28910.

    If higher power is needed than 4.5W, then the UCC28740 is a SSR photocoupler device that drives an external FET that can work at any power level.
