UCC28740: UCC28740

Part Number: UCC28740
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25740B, , PMP11451, UCC28051, PMP11455

Hi,

I am designing portable AC/DC converter with max 20V / 5A or 20V/3A typical.

I am planning to use a single design for two different applications.

1) Power supply brick for a high end audio system.

2) Power adaptor with type -C support. (Using TPS25740B based design for type-C PD support)

Kindly support me to complete my design.

Regards

Raj

  • Rajkumar,
Thanks for your interest in TI here.

Ucc28740 is a good fit for these applications. We do have a 20v,3A reference design pmp11451 here: www.ti.com/.../PMP11451

For the 100w application you may consider using ucc28051 and ucc28740 together. The ucc28740 has an excel design calculator in its tool folder online. You can use that and specify a regulated input to it from the PFC such as 390-410vdc.

Let me know if this helps you to get started.

    Regards
    John
  • Hi John,
Thanks a lot for the replay.
Planning to use PMP11455 based design for our application.
IS it good enough to power 15V3A continuously over 24 Hours + .
Looks like the EVM design is very small & portable.
How about thermal dissipation & efficiency at longer run ?

Is it possible to buy PMP11455 EVM for initial level of testing?
