UCC28950: UCC28950 for DCDC Vin = 50-130V Vout = 350V

Part Number: UCC28950

We'd like to use the UCC28950 full-bridge controller to design a DCDC converter with input voltage between 45V and 130V, and an output voltage of 350V.

The output power is 2200W. Is it suitable for this type of applications?

We have tried to use it but we are having a lot of problems to stabilize the control loop (we have followed the recommendations given in the reference design SLUA560B).

The only difference with the reference design (in addition to the input and output voltage ranges, and the output power) is that the current sensing (CS) is done with a sense resistor on the bottom NMOS SOURCE.

Regards.

  • Hi Felix

Have you used the EXCEL calculator to determine the feedback compensation components.

Can you post some more details of the instability you are seeing - Vout plots, CS signal plots, Vtraffo etc.

The UCC28950 is well suited to this power level.

    Regards
