I do not think at 50W you need PFC. A flyback or simple foward converter will be enough.

You can use an external quad or dual phase signal generated by a simple logic family counter. The generated frequency has to be some 10-15% higher then the PFC-IC circuit. At 5kW I also would use a quad phase boost circuit for the input filter easier design.

We are designing a 220VAC input 10KW power supply. Front end is a 2854 based PFC stage. I put a 75 ohm to it and raises input from 0VAC, the PFC starts to work from 20VAC, boosts to 200VDC or so, at 30VAC it regulates at 400VDC, PF 0.982. However when rise to 35-40VAC it buzzes, PF drops to 0.7 and...

Hi, I have the following problem: When the converter starts switching, there are spikes that are induced in the auxiliar winding that supplies the IC (Vcc pin ). These spikes go beyond the boundaries of the UVLO (16V and 10V). It means that the IC is turned off an then is turned on. The ringing frequency...

Hi all, I'm currently designing a 3 phase (4 wire) 230Vin PFC with the UCC28070. I would like to make some currentsharing on the output, and have read on e2e, that the Si85xx should be a fine choice for current measurement of current instead of a current sense inductor. My three PFC's...

I think UC2853A can use lower value Rsense and it has lower power loss compare to UCC28019A. But, about the cost of IC, UCC28019A is lower than UC2853A. If possible, please let me know the usage of UCC28019A with lower value Rsense. (In UCC28019A, the lower value Rsense will cause damage to...

I've used the UCC25600 up to 550W (designed to 800W). The LLC is great below 1kW but has the disadvantages as described above IF you're regulating the output. I designed mine as a chopper at the resonance frequency (unregulated), which gave me around 97% efficiency at 520W (for LLC alone). ...

Unregulated! fsw = 100kHz. I managed to get 510W out due to the lack of load resistors. I got around 97% efficiency for...
