UCC2305: UCC2305----how to config the high voltage time when breakdown the HID

Part Number: UCC2305

Dears

could u kindly help me to solve how to config the high voltage time when breakdown the HID,we just need it in 300ms. because when there is no headlamp connect to circuit, the too long high voltage time will demage other ICs.

thanks a lot.

  • Hi Ryan,

I need to find the correct applications engineer to answer your question. I hope to have a response for you by the end of the day.

  • Dear Peter

any good news? we urgently need this beedback, thanks a lot!

  • Hi Ryan

Looking at the datasheet on page 5, I see the following description to detect when the output voltage is too high

"The UCC3305 monitors the voltage on VOUTSENSE and compares it to an internal 83mV lower threshold anda 2V upper threshold. If the voltage is outside this window, then the IC will pull up on FLTC with a current of approximately 250nA. If the fault remains long enough to charge the external FLTC capacitor over 5V, the controller declares a catastrophic fault and shuts the IC down. The IC will stay shut down until power is removed from BOOST."

So it looks like the cap on the FLTC should be sized such that cap can charge to 5V with 250nA in 300ms for your application, so the cap should be 15nF.

    Regards

    Peter
