TPS65100-Q1: 3.3V linear regulator controller maximum output current

Hi team,

Could you help clarify the maximum output current of 3.3V LDO controller?

From the datasheet, it seems the output current depends on the external transistor, for best case, what's the maximum output current. My customer would like to use this function, the maximum load current is their major concern.

    Hi Ilona,

    My customer would like to have at least 500mA output current form 3.3V LDO controller.

    Since customer would like to choose a highly integrated and flexible bias solution to cover most of the unipolar AVDD display, I also checked with the customer, tps65100-Q1 could meet their requirement.

    Hello Dongbao,

    The maximum output current depends of the external transistor you are choosing. For the one recommended in the datasheet (BCP68) you can calculate the maximum output current as follows -- hFE in the d/s reaches from 40 to 85
