  • Can you please provide a screen shot from your computer so that we can verify the Error you are seeing?

Are you using the software provided at this link: www.ti.com/.../swcc015 ?

And can you read the label off of the USB to I2C Adapter box included in the kit to verify it says "USB Interface Adapter, Texas Instruments 2006"? This is just to check that the TPS65185EVM was kitted with adapter documented in the User's Guide.

  • I'm not sure about the adapter, as this could also be a driver issue. Usually the GUI can update on its own, so you might need to uninstall that driver, and re-install the TPS65185 GUI.

Ensure the LED is not blinking on the adapter, if so, unplug and replug the adapter.

The official firmware tool for the USB-to-GPIO is located here: www.ti.com/.../USB2GPIO-LOADER-SW
But my adapter was not immediately be recognized by it. I then updated the adapter through the TPS65185 EVM GUI, and afterwards the USB-to-GPIO firmware tool could recognize the device.

  • Hi Arsadhusaim,

The TPS65185 GUI cannot be updated, but it can update the firmware on a USB-to-GPIO. If the LED is not on at all, the adapter may be bricked and I am not exactly sure how to correct this. The USB adapter uses a TUSB3210, and there might be more than one way to recover it, but it will take some trial and error to get the device recognized by the PC.

It seems that different operating systems experience different issues with this adapter and GUI.

One customer was able to un-brick the adapter by using an alternate GUI first, but I do not have a bricked adapter to test this on:
