TPS65160: Vlogic question

Part Number: TPS65160

I’m trying to use the TPS65160 to provide biasing voltages for an LCD panel. The TPS65160 part provides 4 output voltages Vs, Vgh, Vgl, and Vlogic. In my application I do not need Vlogic. But startup sequencing and the Enable pins require the Vlogic buck circuit to reach regulation. Can you think of any way around this? I’m in a very limited circuit board area and would rather not have to stuff the parts

  • Hello Sunni Utt,

Yes you are right, the EN1 requires the VLOGIC to regulate to its power-good before it enables VGL. What you can do to bypass this is to connect the FBB- pin of the buck converter to a voltage between 1.5 V and 7 V (BOOT, SWB floating) . You can use a voltage divider on VIN for example.

    Best Regards.
