BUF20800: Does the BUF20800 support negative voltage?

Part Number: BUF20800
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BUF08821

Hi,

If BUF20800 need outpout driver to support negative voltage, would you have other solution for reference?

Thanks.

Regards,

Eric

  • Hello Eric,

We do not have a simple replacement for BUF20800 that supports negative voltage.

Please explain what you are searching for. Do you need gamma buffers which deliver positive and negative voltage? If yes, how many buffers do you need and do you need gamma buffer and VCOM buffer or just gamma buffer?

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
  • Hi Brigitte,

Yes, we need gamma buffers which deliver positive and negative voltage then need 4 Ch for Positive & 4 Ch for negative.

Does TI have any similar parts solution for reference?

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Eric

  • Hello Eric,

BUF08821 could be used, if the customer could program it outside the system. It is possible to use the negative voltage as GND reference for the IC as long as it is made sure that every pin connected to GND is connected to the negative voltage. But this means that the I2C interface is now referenced to the negative voltage as well.

    Brigitte
  • Hello Eric,

I haven’t heard back from you so I’m assuming you were able to resolve your issue with the above information. If not, just post a reply below (or create a new thread if the thread has locked due to time-out).
