TPS65197: Request for simulation (TPS65197)

Part Number: TPS65197

Request for simulation.pdfHello,

I'm Hiroki Nakanishi.

I am checking about driving ability(TPS65197).

So, Could you please simulate with the following contents?

----< Simulation condition>-----

Load condition:335pF/10kΩ

--------------------------------

----<Question>--------------------------------------------------

Q1. Can Tr be driven from 10% to 90% within 1.5 μs?

Q2. Can Tf be driven from 90% to 10% within 1.5 μs as well?

Q3. Could you please send me simulation result ?

    Tr value= ? (simulation result)

       Tf value= ? (simulation result)

----------------------------------------------------------------

I would appreciate receiving feedback by March 14th.

  • Hello Hiroki-san,

Thanks for your request. Unfortunately we cannot run simulation as requested. I can send you an EVM and you can check this directly in the lab if you like?

    Best Regards.
    Ilona
  • Hello Nakanishi-san,

Please check Figure 3 in the attached app note. Is the load condition you have?

If yes and you want to know the rise and fall times at the connection between the resistor and capacitor, the load limits the rise and fall times there. The time constant of this load is R * C = 335pF * 10 kOhm = 3.35us. To get from 10% to 90% you need more than 2 * R*C, therefore the rise and fall times at the point between the resistor and capacitor will be in the range of 7us, independent of the drive capability of the level shifter.

If the rise and fall times of the channel itself are requested, the datasheet mentions at least 50V/us for a 4.7nF capacitor as load (no current limiting resistor), so the drive capability is enough to achieve these rise and fall times.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte

  • Helio Brigitte-san,

    hank you for your  reply.

Are the required load values VGH, VGL, VIN?

    VGL=-8V/VGH=24V/VIN=3.3V/C=335pF/R=10kΩ

    Best regards,

    Hiroki Nakanishi

  • Hello Nakanishi-san,

What do you mean with required load values?
If you refer to my question above, I just wanted to know if the R and C given in the Request for Simulation.pdf file is connected like in Figure 3 in the above attached file.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
  • Hello Brigitte-san,

I am sorry for the delay in replying your answer.

    The load conditions were specified.

So, Could you please simulate according to the conditions of the attached document?

    Best regards,

    Hiroki Nakanishi

  • Hello Nakanishi-san,

The connection of the load is not specified, you just specify a C and a R, but do not specify if they are connected in series, in parallel, ... This is why I point to the above attached document to understand the connection of the load.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
  • Hello Nakanishi-san,

    – I haven’t heard back so I’m assuming you were able to resolve your issue. If not, just post a reply below (or create a new thread if the thread has locked due to time-out).

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
  • Hello Brigitte-san,

I am sorry for the delay in replying your answer.

    I solved this issue.

    Thank you for your response.

    Best regards,
    Hiroki
