TPS65150-Q1: what's the current limitation of VGL

Hi team,

My customer is using TPS65150, and we'd like to know the current limitation of VGL. Because our load of VGL is about 300mA. Does it work?

Hello Cera Wei,

The part is designed for a continuous current of 50mA. But as you can observe in Figure 30 in the datasheet, we measured a load current of up to 100mA.

So it depends if the 300mA is DC current or AC peak current and how long the peak current needs to be delivered. AC peak current can be high compared to the DC current because most of it is delivered from the output capacitor and the output capacitor can be increased as needed.

The answer is possible for peak currents (needs to be checked individually), no for DC currents.
