Support On LM3429 Design Issue Resolution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3429

Hi,

We have been using LM3429 in our design.

We need some technical support on the below issue,

 Input Voltage Range: 12 – 48 VDC

Output Voltage Range: 7.2 to 15.6 VDC

Output Current: 450mA

Topology Used: Buck-Boost

Schematic: As attached

What we are seeing right now is the variation in the output current of 60 to 100 mA with the increase in input voltage from 12 VDC to 48 VDC.

The output current is 450 mA at 12VDC and it comes to 420mA at 28VDC, as we move further increasing in the input voltage the output current reducing at reached to 380 mA at 48 VDC.

Could you please assist in resolving the issue?

One more query on the “Ilim”, how can we decide the value of “Ilim” means on what basis?

On your reference designs the value is for 5A when the LED output current is 1A, inductor RMS current is 1.88A.

 Hope for a quick response.

 Thanks & Regards,

Suman Kumar Purohit
