LED DRIVER

it seem TPS61046 fit this application, but i'm not sure how you want to control the LED driving current.
what is output current, 40mA? why VOUT=17V?
please help to apply an EVM for customer to evaluation.

17V is for the UV LEDs. Yes 40MA

should the UV LEDs forward voltage be approx. 3.5V? so the output voltage could be much lower than 17V.

TPS61046 is good for the application. if customer need higher output current, TPS61093 is the other option.

how customer control the LED current, another current limit IC?

I meed to check.do you have lrecommended  low cost solution?

if the forward voltage of the LED is not that high, maybe have the 8 LEDs in series and control the current through FB though.

out = 20mA ; Vout = 15 – 16V ( Vblue led max. = 3.5V) .2 branches of 4 Leds –> 3.5V*4 + Vfb (1.2V ) + V res = 15-16V
Using 8 leds in series will reqiuired highrt voltage which need higher priced device

8 LEDs in series 3.5V*8=28V, Vfb=0.8V. the TPS61046 can support 28V, lower than requirement. so customer does need 2 branches in parallel.
