TLC5916 paralleling LEDs

The data sheet states, "With independently controlled outputs supplied with constant current, the LEDs can be combined in parallel to create higher currents on a single string."

Does this mean, for example, two strings of three series connected LEDs can be placed in parallel on one output?

Or does it mean two or more outputs can be paralleled to drive one string?
