Movement in lamp up of LP5521

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5521
Hello
If Vin is 0V or EN is shut off when LP5521 ramped up,
how does this device operate?
Best regards,
Yokota
  • Hello,

Lights will shut down immediately if you set the EN or VDD low.

  • Hello

If enable is off when LP5521 ramp up, how does this device operate?

If EN is Low when LP5521 ramp up,
does this device ramp down or shut down or any other?
    Best regards
    Yokota
  • Hi Yokata-san,

Lighting effects cannot be started if EN is low. LP5521 communication will not work until EN is high. If the sequence is already started, then setting EN low shuts down the lights.

  • Hi Tomi-san

    Thank you for the answer.

I'm terribly sorry to ask you many of times.

If LP5521 is input ramp dawn command during ramp-up,

does this device start behavior to ramp down from that point?

    Best regard,

    Yokota

  • Hi Yokata-san,

The first command is executed to the end before going to next command.

The commands are in the SRAM program memory. The commands are loaded to the memory and then the engine is set to run mode. So the engine runs the commands one by one from the memory. So you cannot give new commands "on-the-fly", all the commands to be executed are already in the memory. If you want to change the program memory, you have to set the engine to "Load program" mode. In this mode the execution is halted and it will continue after you set the engines to run mode again. But this causes the lighting effects to stop during loading, so it is not really the intended way of using the device. But anyway it can be done and might work just fine, depending on the desired sequence.

I'm not quite sure did I understand your question correctly, but I hope this helps!

    Thanks.
