TPS62150 SS/TR pin voltage for analog dimming

What do you mean by 'burn'? What did you do just before it burned?

I don't know what really happen before the TPS62150 is HS (electronic board comes back from my customer). The 2 shunt resistors are also usually HS. I need to replace the circuit + the shunt resistor to repair.

In the design, there is an other led driver circuit to apply a small current (0 to 100mA with an operational amplifier) in the led.

Is there any error in the schematic below?

 

 

How do you know that a given IC is damaged? What is HS?

Does the LED just go between pin 3 and 1 of J3?

With 15Vin, you may have a hot plug event as I describe here: e2e.ti.com/.../what-is-that-giant-tantalum-cap-on-the-input-of-the-evm

Or you could still be applying a too high voltage to SS/TR when the Vin is removed as noted in the app note.

HS means broken.  Sorry. The led function is out. The shunt resistors are broken (too much power/current).

Yes, the LED is between pin 3 and 1 of J3.

The power-up sequence seems to be clean: ramp of the 15V in 6 milliseconds.

Yes, those waveforms appear clean. It is important to check power down as well. If the dimming voltage stays high when Vin is gone or if it goes uncontrolled for some reason (and above its 2.5V max for example), this could potentially damage things.

You might also look at the actual LED current to see if there are some spikes there. I think excessive current would be required to damage the sense resistors.
