LP5521 Output Leakage Current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5521

Hello,

On the LP5521, a couple of the pins specify "output leakage current". When does this current come into effect? Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thank you,

Julien

  • Hi Julien,

All those pins are open drain pins, I believe those numbers are the current when the lower FET is at the OFF state. If the pull up resister is connected, these are the max current that still leaks through the pin when the output is high, i.e. being pull up by the resistor.

  • The RGB pins also have a leakage current spec; as they are high-side drivers, there can be this very small leakage current to the output; you see that it is max 1 µA over voltage and temperature, so really a worst-case... if connected to LEDs, it's alway going to be lower, and will, in avery case I can imagine, be invisible at the LED ;-)
