TPS61052: Cannot communicate with EVM

Part Number: TPS61052

Submitting on behalf of customer...

"I bought one of these ( http://www.ti.com/tool/USB-TO-GPIO )not knowing it came with one of your EVMs I purchased because it was not stated.
It cost $75 and neither work.
I'm not alone either: https://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/webench_design_center/f/235/t/166950

The Reference GUIs and Libraries for Eval and Usage of the USB Inteface Adapter  files from the product page don't work.
The software does not see the adapter... "

This device and tools are about ten years old.  Could this be a Windows driver issue?  Proposed solutions? Believe customer recently upgraded to Windows10.

Additional complaint is "After it installs it starts the program it starts but does not create a Desktop Link or a Start Menu Link to use to start it after you close it.
It installs in a HIDDEN directory under the user profile."  Is there a better executable type install option?

Look forward to your prompt response.

Thanks!

  • Hi David,

I sent you an email with a response as well.

Please have your customer try the software found at this link.

    http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sluc569

It looks to be a newer version of the software than the version included on the disk packed with the EVM as it graphically looks completely different.  I tried it out and everything worked ok with my EVM kit.  I am using a Win7 machine so I cannot say for sure that it is win10 compatible or not.

  • The software you linked downloaded correctly and worked to light the LED. It is not the most convenient file to decompress as it was both Zipped and RARed in a non-self-extracting file.

Is there any updated instructions/documentation for the downloaded software? There is no documentation included in the download. The newer software interface is different so the documentation is not very helpful.

Is source code available for the tools? Customer wants to modify to use with USB Interface Adapter also.

    Thank you,

    Dave

  • Good news that the SW works.

There is no documentation update available and there will not likely be one since the device is ten years old. While the software looks different, the adjustable fields and registers did not really change so it should at least provide some insight into running it.

Sorry, no source code is available for the interface adapter tools.
